Ramadan: Monday September 1st
August 30, 2008
There was no confirmed moon sighting on Saturday, August 30th. Therefore we will complete the 30 days of Shaban in accordance with the Hadith of the Prophet (pbuh). The first day of Ramadan will be on Monday, September 1st 2008. We will begin praying Taraweeh Sunday, August 31st after Salatul Ishaa. Salatul Ishaa will be held 10 minutes after the Adhaan. The time for Ishaa changes with each night, so make sure you consult your prayer schedule to calculate the time for Taraweeh. There are Ramadan prayer schedules available in the Masjid lobby.
