AnNoor Weekend School has been serving the Muslim community in Durham since 2004.
The school offers classes for students from 3-year-old to the High school level and classes for adults. Currently there are approximately 75 students enrolled. The school is run by volunteers who serve as teachers and administrators.
AnNoor Weekend School provides an Islamic education and teaches Islamic concepts in the light of Quran and Sunnah, to our children in a pleasant and receptive manner with the goal of preparing them to conduct themselves as Muslims living in a non-Islamic society.
Classes include Quran (learning to read, memorize, understand, and recite the Quran), Arabic and Seerah (Life of the Prophet).
In addition to classes, the school provides an Islamic environment for socialization and an opportunity to offer Salaat (prayer) in congregation.
