We would love for you to visit our community. We can arrange visits for schools, universities, and religious organizations. Individual are welcome at anytime.
What We Offer
When you visit we will have a prepared 20 minute Powerpoint presentation on the basic beliefs and pillars of Islam. After that we will have about 15 minutes for questions and answers. We are very open to answer any questions you may have, so don’t hesitate in asking them. After the Q &A we will serve either lunch, dinner or refreshment depending on what time of day you plan to visit us. Usually the food will be ethnic food from a Muslim country. After the meal we will have literature to pass out to any one who wants some reading materials. Finally we will give a tour of the Masjid and demonstrate how the Muslim prayer is performed. The total time you should allocate for the visit should be about 1 hour.
A few rules to keep in mind
- We want to be as accommodating as possible, but we humbly request that you follow a few guidelines when you come to our Mosque:
- For women, please wear clothes that cover your body fully. Do not wear any low cut blouses or short skirts. Also avoid tight clothing.
- For men, please wear clothing that is not too tight and do not wear any clothing that has offensive imagery on it.
- When we give a tour of the prayer area, we will need to ask you to remove your shoes; so please remember to wear socks that won’t be embarrassing.
- In Islam, men and women who are not related or married do not shake hands. If you do try to shake hands with any one of the opposite sex, do not feel offended if they decline. It’s part of our religious tradition.
