Imam Siraj Wahhaj at Duke

Insha’allah Imam Siraj Wahhaj will be coming to Duke University on Wednesday, November 5th 2008. Everyone from the Durham, Chapel Hill, Raleigh and surrounding areas are invited to attend. The topic of the events is “Meaningful Community Engagement” and is part of the Duke University MSA’s Community Dinner Series. Here are the the Jumu’ah announcements for July 11th:

  • Salatul Fajr will be held at 5:15 pm and Salatul Dhuhr will be held at 1:35pm
  • Imam Amr’s will continue his History of Islam class Friday Night after Salatul Maghrib.

Arabic (Fos Ha) Class

The board of directors at Jamaat Ibad Arrahman, Inc. has approved starting an Arabic class for adult males, ages 18 and older, free of charge.

The course is designed to teach Muslim brothers how to read, and understand recited Qur’an and Hadeeth. The course will be taught by Mohammed Elmergawi, in collaboration with the education committee.

The classes will be held every Tuesday and Saturday, either between Maghrib and Isha prayers, or after the Isha prayers.

Boys Youth Summer Camp

July 11, 2008 

The Boy’s Youth Summer Camp will be held from Friday, August 1st 2008 to Sunday, August 3rd 2008. The camp will be held at Kerr Lake, NC. It is open to kids ages 8-17. The cost for the camp is $55 per kid and must be made before Friday, July 25th 208.

The camp will have Islamic activities, sports, fishing, canoeing, hiking, and lessons in Islamic brotherhoood. The cost will cover all costs including, transportation, lodging and meals.

Girls Youth Summer Camp

July 11, 2008 

The 2008 JIAR Girl’s Youth Summer camp will be held from Saturday, July 19th to Monday, July 21st at Falls Lake-Rollingview in Durham, NC. Rollingview is located on Baptist Road on NC 98 approximately 5 miles east of Durham and 7 miles West of NC 50.

The registration fee is $30 and is open to youth girls 11 and over. Deadline to register is Thursday, July 17th 2008.

Fajr Breakfast for Brothers

July 11, 2008 

On Saturday morning, July 12th we will have Salatul Fajr at 5:15am. After the Salat there will be a community breakfast for the brothers. It will be a time to eat and then socialize with your brothers. Imam Amr will hold a short session on the Quran before the breakfast.
